2nd Prize – Town Hall Aachen

Together with HPP Architects we have been awarded second place in the competition for the new construction of the administration building in the Lagerhausstraße in the city of Aachen.
The supporting structure and the facade of the extension are foreseen as a highly efficient prefabricated construction, in a modular wood-concrete design composed in a modular design principle of facade elements, wooden supports, wood-concrete composite ceilings and reinforced concrete cores in prefabricated walls.
Due to the extensive use of wood, several tonnes of CO2 can be bound in the building and the greatly reduced use of concrete optimizes the overall building balance in terms of raw materials and energy.
