The client is implementing the new construction of a Hotel at the Bostalsee, Germany. This lake in north Saarland, located at the tri-border region of Germany, France and Luxembourg, is an important tourist magnet. The hotel designed by GRAFT Architects based in Berlin reminds of a lodge and places the focus on wellness and pleasure. The four-storey building is harmoniously embedded into the landscape and partly set into the slope. The main load-bearing structure was designed as a reinforced concrete skeleton construction with flat slabs as well as bracing cores, columns and walls. The top floor will be a steel frame structure with maximum flexibility for further development or future modifications and conversions. The wellness area consists of several pool basins executed with watertight concrete with an additional waterproof layer.
