The client is implementing the new construction of a hotel at the Bostalsee, Germany. This lake in the north of Saarland is an important tourist magnet located at the tri-border region of Germany, France and Luxembourg. The building designed by GRAFT Architects based in Berlin is a lodge-inspired hotel with focus on wellness and pleasure. The four-storey building is harmoniously embedded into the surroundings and partly set into the sloping landscape. The main load-bearing structure was designed as a reinforced concrete frame construction with flat slabs as well as bracing cores, columns and walls. Over the top floor there will be a timber structure offering maximum flexibility for the internal fitout or future modifications. The wellness area consists of several pool basins cast in watertight concrete with an additional waterproof layer.
