Concert Hall
Located in the Eastern part of Munich's central disctrict, a new concert hall will arise, featuring excellent acoustics, modern architecture and a prospective artistic character.
In the Werksviertel, a former industrial area, a lively urban district is emerging, creating new apartments, shops and workspaces. The Munich Concert House, a place for shared musical experiences, will be positioned in the center of up and coming creative quarter. It consists of two concert halls of different sizes, including dining areas and additional event spaces.
Knippers Helbig, in collaboration with Cokrowicz Nachbaur Architects, won the design competition, developed the concept of the loadbearing structure, and is currently advising on the planning of the building envelope.
The envelope of the main building volume consists of a unitized double-skin with an external glass lamellae screen.
On ground level a rainscreen of highly material efficient carbon concrete panels will form a solid base for the building.
