The six-story office building, planned as a mass-timber construction, represents the southern opening of the development at the Harbour Basin A of the Düsseldorf media port. The design principles follow the Cradle to Cradle concept, so that every material's sustainability and recyclability is considered. The façade is a wooden construction. In front of the façade, diagonally arranged glue-laminated columns are protected from weather by a glass layer and are the design driving element of the building. They support the slabs and, together with a massive core inside, form the horizontal bracing. The building grid takes into account the requirements for efficient timber construction and enables the construction of glue-free stacked boards as prefab elements. The slabs are supported on timber columns and ceiling joists. Only the basement, the core and the ground floor are a reinforced concrete construction.
