The multi-family house with 13 flats and 7 floors in Magazinstr. in Berlin will receive exterior walls made of lightweight concrete. The material has a simultaneous load-bearing and insulating function and is therefore also called insulating concrete. This enables exposed concrete surfaces on the outside and inside with a single-layer setup.
The lightweight concrete is cast as in-situ concrete on site. A reliable high-quality result is achieved due to its normatively regulated properties (LC12/13). Additional thermal insulation is not required. The building height of 7 storeys represents an optimal and very economical application for the material.
The building will have large-format wooden windows, and the interior walls, ceilings and stair core will be made of normal concrete. The basement will be constructed as a watertight structure, the foundation will be a shallow foundation.
