The "Rote Wand" area is the last of four construction phases on the site of the former trade fair halls in Stuttgart's Killesberg park. In the immediate vicinity of the historic housing estates "Am Kochenhof" and "Am Weißenhof" as well as the new quarter at "Grüne Fuge", a residential quarter of the future is now to be erected on the grounds at "Rote Wand". It will be characterized by innovative residential forms and housing concepts as well as by its ecological orientation on climate and CO2-neutral building standards.
The approx. 160-m long building block facing the street is constructed entirely without glue using solid timber elements. The punctiform structures behind it are planned in a wood-concrete hybrid construction, whereby concrete technology aspects are taken into account at an early stage. This makes a sustainable construction with concrete possible by using recycled materials.
