A parametric louvre facade was developed for the Trumpf showroom in Warsaw. On the one hand this provides shade to the main facades, on the other hand it references the metalworking machine tools manufactured by Trumpf.
On the visible sides, the building envelope is divided into glazed facades mounted from the outside (inverse installation) on steel stanchions. The stanchions also support the front-mounted louvre facades. The individual louvres are fastened by welded-on straps at the back to a scissor-like substructure. The L-shaped design of the louvres permits span widths of 5.40 m with a sheet metal thickness of 3 mm, thereby offering a high degree of shade.
The sculptural appearance of the facade is the result of parametric design development, taking into account the technical demands of the building envelope.
