Sports complex with velodrome and multi-sport center in a timber construction as well as a swimming pool in a reinforced concrete construction
The project is inspired by the topographical flow of its natural environment.
The sculptural design is visible from a distance, seemingly floating while at the same time embedded in a hill in the landscape. A direct relationship with its natural surroundings as well as the use of sustainable and reusable materials are the primary focus of the design.
The roof structure of the Velodrome with an oval layout and max. spans of 80 and 117 m is being built using intersecting lattice girders.
The lattice girders made of glulam with a maximum height of 5 m will be mounted on V-shaped wooden supports. Prefabrication and assembly aspects play a decisive role in detailing and the overall structural design.
The roof structure of the three-purpose sports center is being constructed using fish-bellied glulam beams with a span of 40 m, positioned longitudinally on reinforced concrete walls. The reinforced concrete swimming pool hall will be covered by an inclined ribbed slab ceiling.
